Dance Dance Revolution has been around for at least 10 years now and is still going strong. Though it’s not gaining a huge fanbase, it’s still sustaining enought to keep dridging forward from it’s start as Dancing Stage all the way to the newest version… DDR X.
This new version, seen above, can be distinguised from the others with it’s newer low profile platform and the new speaker design with the HDTV monitor. The game itself plays like many others. Music can be resorted by BPM, Alphabetical, Series, etc… The difficulty can be adjusted by double tapping up or down on the platform. It’s all there! All the models have been redone with their newfound HD resolution as well, but DDR is DDR. It’s not that the game is overplayed or drawnout, it’s more like the series can only get so far with innovation before losing their core fanbase. This formual and need for tradition holds true with this version and plays like a dream. No unnecessary diagonals (like in DDR Solo) or any non-bemani songs cluttering it up (like DDR Universe/2.) The cabinet is built to last like it’s predecessors and pumps out great sound.
If you are looking for a great way to play every single song from DDR with a nice new cabinet, play yourself some DDR X!
